Bravo Studio is a compelling design-to-native-app builder for designers who already work in Figma and want API-connected iOS and Android builds without recreating screens in a separate visual editor. Starter is free; Solo costs around $22 monthly and unlocks store publishing, up to 30 screens, payments/auth features, unlimited builds, and the beta Bravo MCP workflow. Traditional Bravo does not export source code, which is the decisive limitation.

Who Bravo is for — and who should skip it
Pick Bravo if: you already design in Figma, want real iOS/Android store builds from that design, and are comfortable pairing it with a backend (Xano, Supabase, Firebase). It shines when distinctive visual design matters and a designer works alongside someone who owns the API.
Skip Bravo if: you need to hand a conventional React Native source-code project to a developer later — traditional Studio produces publication bundles, not exportable source, and that lock-in is the decisive trade. Also skip it for complex offline-first sync or heavy native background processing; prototype that hardest feature elsewhere first.
Plans
| Plan | Price | App screens | Publishing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $0 | Up to 15 per app | Preview only |
| Solo | around $22/month | Up to 30 per app | Unlimited store builds |
Starter supports unlimited projects, API collections, common request methods/authentication, Bravo Tags, and preview. Solo adds Stripe, OAuth, Firebase authentication, deep links, conditional UI, charts, maps, remote actions, and app-store builds under current pricing.
The Solo trial currently requires no card. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the prepaid period; mid-term refunds are not issued. Exact currency appears at checkout.
Figma-first workflow
Bravo uses Figma as the design source. Designers apply Bravo Tags and structure frames/components so the platform recognizes navigation, inputs, lists, containers, and native behavior.
Good Figma hygiene matters: consistent naming, components, auto layout, constraints, states, and reusable styles. A beautiful unstructured file can be harder to convert than a plain systematic one.
API collections
Bravo connects interfaces to REST APIs using GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE with Basic, API-key, or bearer authentication. Data binding maps responses to screen elements. Solo enables richer requests and inputs.
Do not place permanent secrets in the app. Mobile clients can be inspected. Use a backend to exchange credentials, enforce authorization, validate fields, rate-limit, and log changes.
Backend choices
Bravo is a front end; teams commonly connect Xano, Supabase, Airtable-facing APIs, Firebase, or custom services. The backend determines data integrity, authorization, search, business logic, and scale.
Choose it before designing dozens of screens. Document schemas, error responses, pagination, authentication refresh, and offline behavior. An API that returns convenient data without user-level authorization is unsafe.
Bravo MCP
Solo includes Bravo MCP 4.0 beta, which works with MCP-capable AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Continue using the customer’s existing AI subscription. Current positioning includes React Native output, a Convex backend, and real-time Figma synchronization.
Treat beta capabilities separately from the established Studio workflow. Test source ownership, generated architecture, Convex cost, export, updates, and production support. Do not choose a paid app stack based solely on a beta promise.
Native publishing
Solo produces AAB/Android and IPA/iOS build files for app stores. “Unlimited builds” matters because one Android and one iOS file count as separate artifacts. Apple/Google developer fees, certificates, signing, privacy labels, screenshots, review, and policy remain external.
Test on physical devices. Verify safe areas, keyboard, permissions, deep links, notifications, OAuth redirects, payments, accessibility, and network errors.
Source-code lock-in
The standard Bravo Studio pricing FAQ says it generates publication bundles and does not export source. That means a team cannot simply take a conventional React Native project to another developer. Bravo To Go or the newer MCP path may offer different source arrangements; verify exact contract and maturity.
Before building, decide whether published binaries plus API ownership are sufficient. Keep Figma, backend, assets, copy, data, and API documentation portable. Test what users see if the subscription downgrades; current FAQ warns reverted free apps can show a blocked message until republished.
Screen and add-on economics
Solo limits an app to 30 screens. Count modal flows, onboarding, account, error, settings, and legal screens, not just the main design. Individual app add-ons can cover analytics, purchases, or custom branding and raise total cost.
Request the full add-on price before comparing around $22 with FlutterFlow. Include backend, AI subscription, app stores, push service, analytics, and maintenance.
Payments and authentication
Solo supports Stripe, OAuth 2.0, custom authentication, and Firebase email/phone features. Authentication UI is not authorization. The backend must check every request and prevent one user from changing another’s ID.
For purchases, follow Apple/Google in-app purchase rules. A Stripe integration does not permit bypassing store policies for digital goods.
Design changes
Figma synchronization makes visual iteration attractive, but changes can break bindings and tags. Version the file, duplicate production screens before major redesign, and keep a regression checklist.
Separate style changes from API/schema changes. Test both platforms after every sync.
Performance and offline
Network latency, image weight, pagination, list size, and API design determine performance. Provide loading, empty, error, retry, and offline states in Figma and data logic.
Bravo is not the first choice for complex offline-first synchronization or heavy native background processing. Prototype the hardest technical feature before completing design.
Best use cases
Bravo fits event apps, content/member apps, directories, service portals, dashboards, and API-backed MVPs where differentiated visual design matters. It is especially good for a designer paired with a backend builder.
Choose Glide for faster table-driven internal apps, FlutterFlow for code extensibility/source export, or custom React Native for deep native behavior.
Weaknesses
No traditional source export creates material lock-in. Screen limits and add-ons complicate the around $22 headline. Backend skills are still required, and beta MCP claims need production proof. Debugging spans Figma tags, Bravo bindings, API, backend, stores, and devices.
Design-first does not mean engineering-free.
Pilot
Use Starter to build five screens: login, list, detail, form, and error/empty state. Connect a test API with user-level authorization. On Solo trial, produce both builds, test OAuth/deep link/payment sandbox, and submit an internal store build.
Perform an exit review: export Figma/data/API docs and establish what source, binaries, and backend remain after cancellation.
FAQ
Does Bravo export source code?
Traditional Studio does not under the current FAQ. Verify Bravo MCP/To Go terms separately.
Is Solo really around $22?
Yes at reviewed monthly pricing, before per-app add-ons, backend, AI, and store costs.
Can Bravo build native apps?
It produces iOS and Android store build files; store approval is not guaranteed.
What happens after downgrade?
Current terms warn published apps reverting to Free may show a blocked message until republished. Confirm before launch.
How we evaluated Bravo Studio · Updated September 2026
We price the Solo plan the way a real project pays for it — ~$22/mo plus per-app add-ons, backend, an AI subscription for the MCP beta, and Apple/Google store fees — and we weight source-code ownership heavily because it is the hardest thing to reverse. Confirm current plans, screen limits, and downgrade behavior on Bravo’s pricing page; treat the Bravo MCP source terms as beta until proven in production.
Verdict
Bravo Studio is a strong Figma-to-native path for visually distinctive API apps. Solo is affordable, but source lock-in and add-ons must be accepted deliberately. Prototype the backend, hardest native feature, store build, and exit path first.
Renewal checklist
Count production apps, screens, add-ons, builds, backend usage, AI subscription, store fees, and support needs. Export Figma, assets, copy, API collections/documentation, user data, and store credentials. Confirm what remains functional after downgrade and who can issue emergency builds. Repeat the source-ownership review as Bravo MCP leaves beta or its terms change.
